Grindstone Safaris, a family-owned hunting outfit located in Limpopo, is a special place where memories for a lifetime are made as you embark on great adventures with great people – and you choose the animal/s that you want to hunt.
Grindstone Safaris’ 2025 hunting season has just concluded – and the business had a successful year with a lot of wonderful clients and new friends, who harvested beautiful trophies.
Owners Martin and Mariëtte Mey have been fortunate to own various cattle and game farms over the years. For the past 26 years, they have been living their dream of specialising in wildlife conservation and the hunting industry.
Their two sons, Tiaan and Tinus, grew up in the hunting industry and learned the tricks of the trade from a young age – and later became professional hunters.
They are personally involved in every aspect of your safari. Non-hunters and families are also welcome, and always enjoy the safaris and other activities on offer. They are able to accompany the hunters on safari to take pictures and enjoy the scenery, or can choose to sleep in and relax at the lodge, where the Meys will arrange a variety of activities.
The lodge offers all the creature comforts and luxuries of modern-day living, allowing you to enjoy their hospitality. Guests are treated to meals of exceptional quality, which are accompanied by a wide choice of drinks and/or wine to complement the food.
The main camp consists of a big thatch roof building with a fully stocked bar, a dining area and a comfortable lounge area where you can sit back and relax when you’re not out hunting or busy with other activities. There is also a beautiful swimming pool for you to enjoy and cool down in following a lovely day in the sun. After an amazing day under African skies, you can spend the night around a beautiful bonfire and share stories about the day’s successful and exciting adventures.
Grindstone Safaris offer a wide range of species for hunting, including Impalas, kudus, sable, nyalas, buffaloes as well as blesbuck, eland, gemsbuck (oryx), wildebeest, zebras, just to name a few.
