For those who visit the African Bushveld, there has always been one particular need that no destination on the continent could satisfy. Berchtesgaden caters for those who wish to experience more than beautiful views, luxurious accommodations & great food. We offer all this & so much more. We have created a destination where, finally, you can experience Africa as your very own. Our Ranch is thus available, and we have designed activities in such a manner that our guests have exclusive access to that lifestyle. When you visit Berchtesgaden, you are visiting your second home tucked away in the heart of the Waterberg.

Pool

The pool is located on your way from our Chalets to the Boma, adjacent to the Lapa. It is the perfect spot to relax after an active day out on the Ranch or to just cool down from the hot African sun. Being next to the Lapa also allows parents to keep an eye on their kids from the comfort of the Lounge area inside.

Boma

Our Boma is the heart & soul of your experience. It is here around a big burning bonfire where stories are told, drinks are had and memories forged. The Boma is located past the Lapa on one side of the main lodge compound as to not disturb the peace & quiet of those resting in their rooms, yet close enough to everything else you might want to utilize.

Observation Deck

In the very Northern corner of the secure lodge compound, you will find the observation deck overlooking two sides. This deck is the perfect spot to sit back next to our 250 litre Capetonian wood barrels and enjoy a good glass of wine, available from our exquisite selection of Estate wines.

To the North is the thick African Bush with a clearing where you will see many animals coming in to enjoy some molasses or a sip of water from the watering hole. To the West is our breeding camp where you will be sure to spot animals belonging to fantastic genetic lines.

Wellness Center

We offer advanced therapeutic and relaxation massages in a safe, comfortable, and relaxing environment which include all ages; children, adults and seniors. The services include a variety of massage techniques that are designed to relieve the pain and stress related to day-to-day living while aiding in the rehabilitation of physical injuries. Treatments are ideal for women & men suffering from tight and sore muscles, digestive disorders, joint pain, cellulite, headache, migraines, stretch marks and spider veins among others - or just those who like to relax.

Gymnasium

Adjacent to the Spa you will find our roofed gym overlooking a clearing in the bushveld where animals often come to visit. Here we have provided all the necessary equipment for those quick stay-in-shape holiday workouts.

Business Centre

Our meeting room, nicknamed the Lion's Den, is perfect for those breakaway strategy sessions so vital to business growth. You and your team will be as productive as ever with supplied meeting necessities such as high-speed internet, a 42" screen with audio and HDMI, an oversised whiteboard and yes, even the essential bottomless coffee station. While having all of this, you will still be fully aware of your bushveld surroundings with roll-up canvas walls which allow you to completely open or close the room and enjoy the beautiful view of the bush & animals around you.

Self-Catering Facilities

Close to the Boma (where you'll find the over-size open fireplace) are all the facilities you would need to self-cater. Fridges, freezers, microwave, 2x stoves, plenty of countertops and ample storage space conveniently found in this well-lit space perfect for all occasions.

These facilities are in addition to the kitchenette in each chalet which has a microwave, small fridge/freezer and kettle.

Lounge & Bar

The main Lapa is the centre of all activities on the main Lodge compound. Set tables are served delicious meals from our lodge kitchen three times a day or as requested. If it is not the food you are after, the Rhodesian teak bar is the perfect spot to enjoy a cold one while relaxing with beautiful views through our large open paned windows. Our comfortable lounge area is complete with a high-power spotting scope and chess set.

Secure Lodge Area

At Berchtesgaden, we aim to provide guests with only the very best. That is why we have secured a massive 1.5 hectare main Lodge compound with clean & neat electrified fencing. This extra security measure ensures the safety of all guests at Berchtesgaden from wild animals and other unwanted risks, giving everyone peace of mind to enjoy themselves in a large open area with most of the amenities close together. For further convenience, you will be able to quickly enter and exit through the motorised main gate onto the rest of the Ranch at any time. Further, all guests have 24/7 access to the observation deck, built to allow an utterly fence-less view of the surroundings.
