Grindstone Safaris is a family-owned outfit and is located in the Limpopo Province in South Africa.

The lodge has all the comfort and luxuries of modern-day living, where you can enjoy our hospitality and where the best quality meals will be served with drinks and/or wine to compliment the food.

The Main Camp consists of a big thatch roof building with a fully stocked bar, a dining area, and a comfortable lounge area where you can relax in while you're not out hunting or busy with any activities. There is also a beautiful swimming pool for you to enjoy and cool down in after a nice day in the sun. After an amazing day under the African sky, we’ll spend the night around a mesmerising bonfire and share some stories about the day’s successful adventures.

Martin and Mariëtte Mey as owners of the Company have been fortunate to have owned various cattle and game farms over the years. The past 26 years we have been living our dream of specializing in wildlife conservation and the hunting industry.

Our two sons Tiaan and Tinus were fortunate to spend their entire childhood growing up in the hunting industry and learned the tricks of the trade from a young age and later qualified as Professional Hunters.

We make a great team and we pride ourselves in being personally involved in every aspect of your safari. We do not book different groups in camp at the same time. Non- hunters and families are also very welcome and they always enjoy the safari and other activities. They can accompany the hunters on the hunt to take pictures and enjoy the scenery or sleep in and relax at the lodge where we will arrange things to do. Africa offers much more than just a hunting experience.

We also have concessions in Mpumalanga, Free State and Northern Cape for species that are not indigenous to our area.

TARIFFS:

US: $350 PER HUNTER PER DAY
US: $150 PER NON-HUNTER PER DAY

Tariffs include the following:

Personal pick up and drop off at OR Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg. +/- 2 hours drive from the Airport.
Accommodation in one of our Luxury units.
All food and beverages (Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic)
Each Hunter will have a Professional Hunter assigned to him/her at the beginning of the hunt, hunting vehicle, trackers and skinners as well as full preparation of trophies and transportation to the Taxidermist.

Daily Tariffs exclude the following:

International and domestic flights
Air charters and accommodation as listed under “Other Adventures”
Fees for animals wounded and lost
Hire of firearms and ammunition
Taxidermy fees, dipping, packing and shipping of trophies
All personal expenditures, tips for staff, telephone calls and curio purchases.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

TRAVEL:

• South Africa: Valid passport, some countries may require a VISA
• No vaccinations are required for South Africa (Check Covid Requirements upon booking date)
• No malaria risk at the camp but precaution is recommended in some areas
• Flight destination is OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. At the airport, you will be picked up by our staff for the 2-hour drive to our camp.

DOCUMENTATION & RIFLE IMPORTATION

To import your hunting rifles the following documents will be needed to assist you at the South African customs office
• Invitation Letter
• SAPS 520 Form,

• Also obtain a US Customs Form 4457 from your local Customs Office. Make sure the form is filled out and stamped
• Bring a copy of your itinerary and passport along

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
All bookings will be confirmed with a $500 deposit to secure your date.

The deposit will not be refunded on any cancellations, however, it can be applied to a different hunt than the original hunt booked or it can be transferred to the following year. All payments are in US currency, cash, wire transfers or Credit Card.
